The beautiful community of Bryans Road was named after Oliver Norris Bryan who was a 19th-century scientist and farmer. He owned the Locust Grove Farm that’s located near Marshall Hall in Maryland. Back then, the area was mostly tobacco fields until the Naval Proving Grounds at Indian Head was established in 1890. There is a shopping center that includes retail, grocery stores, gas stations, and more at the main intersection of Bryans Road. Many of the residents commute to Washington D.C. for work and the commute is quite easy from Bryans Road.
